In 2016, Lions Eye Hospital Kodoli was born from a vision that transcended borders—a world
free from preventable blindness. Driven by the mission to provide accessible, affordable,
and high-quality eye care, the hospital set out to ensure that everyone in the region could
experience the life-changing gift of sight. The journey began humbly but powerfully.
The hospital’s early days were marked by impactful eye screening campaigns, made possible
through collaborations with other Lions Eye Hospitals. These efforts not only brought vital
eye care services to the doorstep of those in need but also planted the seeds of trust and
hope within the community.
Guided by the visionary leadership of Chairman S. R. Patil, the dream of establishing a dedicated,
independent facility became a reality. His unwavering commitment to building a center of excellence
led to the creation of a space where advanced eye care could be delivered consistently and
compassionately. With the doors of Lions Eye Hospital Kodoli open, it soon became the heart and hub
of eye health services for the region. As the hospital’s reputation grew, so did its impact.
One of the proudest milestones came with the completion of over 3,000 cataract surgeries—each one a
life transformed, each one a testament to the hospital’s unwavering dedication to sight restoration.
This remarkable achievement not only illuminated the lives of thousands but also solidified the
hospital’s role as a cornerstone of the community's well-being.
Buoyed by this success, Lions Eye Hospital Kodoli extended its reach even further, launching a new
venture—Lions Eye Hospital Ichalkaranji. This expansion was born from the same commitment to
service, ensuring that even more people could benefit from high-quality eye care.
